Scramble Ensemble, a new Cork theatre company, are looking for actors, musicians, designers and crew for their first production, Scramble. Scramble will take place in the Granary Theatre from the 4th to the 7th of September and is kindly supported and funded by the Granary Theatre and the UCC Performance Exchange grant.

This is a profit-share production. Scramble are looking for 6 performers (actors, musicians or both) with a strong interest in devising and improvisation. Scramble is being devised/written by Jack Holland, Map Perry and Rob Moloney, co-directed by Jack and Map with composition/sound design by Rob.

Auditions will take place in the Granary Studio from 7-10pm on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th of July, with a callback workshop on July 11th. All cast would need to be available from August 26th to September 7th, as we will have a week’s tech and rehearsal in the Granary space before the show opens.

What’s Scramble all about? A good question.

Duncan Trundle is an absolute nobody. He’s a “twenty-something”, or something – he’s heard the word bandied about at any rate – and everyone around him seems to be scrambling towards their goals, reaching for their dreams. Duncan, however, doesn’t have any goals. Duncan doesn’t want what other people want – love, success, fulfillment, happiness. He’s perfectly content to sit on his couch. Is there something wrong with him? Or is there something wrong with everyone else?
