Ian Hislop and Nick Newman’s hilarious and capitvating comedy, presented by UCC Players.
A Bunch of Amateurs centres around a slightly eccentric amateur dramatic group and their attempts to save their theatre. Facing the financial ruin of their beloved community theatre, this dramatic group decide that their only hope is to cast a celebrity in their forthcoming production. Ageing Hollywood star Jefferson Steel accepts the role of King Lear (under false pretext from his agent). Arriving with his daughter, Jefferson begins to test the limits of the group with his monstrous ego and vanity. What follows are a series of hilarious tantrums, mayhem, mania, and female adoration.
This production is directed by Valda Rumley and is suitable for audience aged 12+.
