The Retreat is a short play based on the equally short stay of four ladies in a health spa. Written and directed by Kathy D'Arcy this show will be running upstairs in the Granary studio from the 29th- 2nd February.

Shopping & Fucking: The sexual violence of Shopping and Fucking explores what is possible if consumerism supersedes all other moral codes. To this effect everything, including sex, violence and drugs, is reduced to a mere transaction in an age where shopping centres are the new cathedrals of Western consumerism. All moral crises in the world of the play are wiped out by the transaction of money. As one character says “When someone’s paying… then you do it. Nothing right. Nothing wrong. It’s a deal”.
Though there is deceptively little shopping in this play, several twisted takes on the latter titular activity are presented.
This is not a play for those who enjoy only a Richard Curtis type tale nor ideed is it a play for the maiden aunt and it certainly is not suitable for the children.
