performed plays. Set in mock-victorian soho the play is a marxist
satire on bourgeois society in Weimar Germany based on John Gay's 18th
century Beggar's Opera. With music by Kurt Weill The Threepenny Opera
is still considered the greatest attempt at bringing Jazz to the
theatre
